ABSTRACT
Nowadays, in the advances of globalization era there
are a lot of electronic goods spreading in the community. The
Widespread of the use of electronic goods make the society dependence on
them, includes Indonesia. The number of brands of the China-made mobile
phones circulation in the industrial world, especially in Indonesia led
to changes in the mindset of the people in the use
of mobile phones. However, it is not
supported by good quality, so it tends to do not have last
long, the mobile phone’s charger is no exception, causing the
accumulation of inorganic waste. Based on
this, researchers will make lanterns as a form of using wasted chargers as
an innovation effort as well as an extending the opportunity to have a small
and medium industry. In addition, it is known that the lengths of the charger’
cable had by the society is about 80-100 cm. Thus, providing a lantern needs 4
chargers. The research method is applied: (1) collecting wasted charger’s
cable. (2) deciding the shape of lantern, (3) choosing the lantern’s motif, (4)
the marketing of lanterns. In the manufacture
of lanterns used cable charger takes 4-5
hours depending on the desired shape. By
using creativity to make lanterns, it can increase the
value of lanterns. Especially with a unique motif lanterns can penetrate the
market. Thus innovation can open up opportunities for small
and medium industries to increase the income of environmentally
friendly raw materials.
